(341 words) Nekrasov's work “Peasant Children” is an excellent historical guide that will tell about life and customs among the peasant environment. The main idea of the poem is that the serene childhood of the peasants early turns into a joyless adult life, full of deprivation and suffering. I really liked this work, because it shows the true fate of the people.
The poem begins with the author’s story about how, tired after hunting, he came across a barn and fell asleep there. Waking up, he found that peasant children were watching him, and he was moved. The guys looked into the crevices of the barn and whispered to each other. When the children noticed that the author was watching them, some were scared and ran away. Left for the summer, the master enjoyed the beauty and company of the children. The life of peasant children is filled with various games, so he envies them. In the "rowing season" they run and make noise in the forest, collecting its wealth. After the author speaks about the “other side of the coin” of the childhood of peasants. They do not receive education, get acquainted with work early and will never become revered people in society. In the poem, the poet shares his memories of a six-year-old boy whom he met in the cold winter. At that moment, as his father chopped wood, he helps to transport them. The boy has to help, because in their family there are only two men. Next, Nikolai Alekseevich returns to the beginning. The guys became bolder, and the author began to amuse them by giving commands to his dog Fingal. Children laugh, they begin to give commands themselves, and the poet enjoys their fun. A cloud is approaching, it has darkened, rain has poured. The guys ran home, and the author and his dog, after waiting for the thunderstorm, went hunting.
My impression of the poem is positive, because the author showed not only the bad aspects of the life of peasant children, but also the good features of their life. He objectively describes their fate, analyzing the present and future of the children. I can form a reasoned opinion about their fate after reading the poem. My conclusion is that the children of the peasants are doomed to poverty and ignorance, although they live in the lap of nature and enjoy its benefits. While all these forests and fields belong only to the masters, the peasants are only slaves who are called to cultivate, sow, mow, but not enjoy the Russian land. And I respect Nekrasov for raising such topical issues.
