(319 words) Kindness is a synonym for mercy, sympathy, it is a constant willingness to help people. Benevolence, courtesy, generosity and selflessness are the distinguishing qualities of a good person. Such people, doing noble deeds, do not expect anything in return, because they have a big heart. They are ready to sacrifice themselves and their interests for the sake of relatives, friends and even strangers. Russian writers portrayed with special warmth heroes whose kindness was inalienable quality.
A true example of kindness, sympathy, mercy is the heroine of the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky "Crime and Punishment" Sonia Marmeladova. She went on a yellow ticket to raise money for a starving family. The girl fed her stepmother, her children and her drinking father, but did not reproach them, but humbly carried her heavy cross. But her main qualities are manifested when the heroine sympathizes with Raskolnikov, feels his pain and, as much as possible, supports him. She tries to show him the way to God, persuades him to repent and confess. It is Sonechka who goes to Rodion to Siberia and there the people around him become necessary. It is safe to say that only thanks to this girl does the hero come to faith and be reborn for a new life. What qualities can characterize it? She possesses such qualities as nobility, tact, mercy and humanity.
Beloved hero of Leo Tolstoy, Pierre Bezukhov from the novel "War and Peace" also serves as an example of kindness and selflessness. It was Pierre who supported his friend Bolkonsky in difficult times of his life. Bezukhov is next to the sick Natasha after her failed escape with Kuragin. Pierre stands up for the Georgian woman, rescues the child in empty Moscow, it is he who wants to kill Napoleon as the source of all the troubles of Russia, but after meeting with Platon Karataev realizes that the people need other help. Therefore, after the war, a man longs to engage in a radical reorganization of Russia. This means that this person is adorned with such virtues as compassion, generosity and active love for people.
Thus, on the example of literary heroes, we see that the owner of such a quality as kindness is an unselfish person, always ready to help, capable of sympathy and compassion, and only a noble and strong person can possess such properties.
